Born on June 2, 2002, in Brussels, Belgium, to Moroccan parents (his father is from Casablanca and his mother from Rabat), Mehdi Boukamir grew up in a multicultural environment. His parents moved to Belgium in the late 1990s, and Boukamir developed a passion for football at a young age, playing in local clubs.

At the age of eight, Boukamir joined the youth academy of RSC Anderlecht, where his talent as a central defender was quickly recognized. His technical skills and defensive abilities were honed under the guidance of experienced coaches.

In 2021, Boukamir moved to the youth academy of Club Brugge, where he continued his development. His impressive performances in youth competitions have earned him a place in the senior squad, and he is seen as a promising talent for the future of Moroccan and Belgian football.
